Disney to Stop Making Fairy Tales

One could argue that Disney deciding to stop making movies based on fairy tales is a bit like if Apple decided to discontinue the iPod, but apparently Tangled will be the company’s last princess story.

The company was reportedly motivated to make the change after the box-office failure of last year’s The Princess and the Frog. Two other fairy tale-based projects, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Snow Queen, have been shelved, and the plan is to focus on stories that can appeal to little boys as well as little girls. Does this mean we’ll be left to rely on Kate Middleton
whenever we need our princess fix?
