George Lucas Casting Dead Actors in a Movie?
Because, well, why not, George Lucas is reportedly working on securing the rights to digitally use dead stars from Hollywood’s Golden Age in a new movie.
Lucas collaborator Mel Smith told The Daily Mail that the project will feature the deceased legends sharing scenes with actors of the modern era. “George has been buying up the film rights to dead actors in the hope of using computer trickery to put them all together, so you’d have Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck alongside today’s stars,” he said.
Because Welles and Stanwyck are, you know, no longer breathing, motion-capture technology and voiceover work would be employed to bring them back to life on the big screen. This is good news for anyone who’s yearned to see Katharine Hepburn share a tender embrace with Robert Pattinson or watch Jimmy Stewart hunting down bad guys with The Rock. You know, all those people who yearn for that. All of them. Ahem.
