Listen to a New Mountain Goats Song

Last week, John Darnielle took to his Twitter account to announce the new Mountain Goats album All Eternals Deck, and now he’s using the social networking site to premiere “Tyler Lambert’s Grave,” one of the album’s outtakes.

“This song was written last summer, I recorded piano and voice and then sent it to the amazing Leanne Zacharias for strings,” he tweeted.

The song — which refers to actress Dana Plato’s son, who killed himself in May — won’t be on the album. “I am super fond of it but it does not really fit into the All Eternals Deck. Just a much different mood," Darnielle explained.
