Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy Cast as New Batman Villains

Warner Bros. has announced that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle, AKA: Catwoman, in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Additionally, Tom Hardy, who worked with Nolan as Eames in Inception, will appear as the villain of the story, Bane.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.” Nolan stated. In addition he said he is “delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”

This raises the question though, will Selina Kyle be the love interest of the film, and if so, will Catwoman even appear at all? Looking at the comics, Catwoman and Batman have a long history of treading the line between lovers and enemies.
