Angry Birds, the iPhone game created by a team of 17 developers that’s had millions captivated (or perhaps a better word here is “distracted”) in recent months, has been ousted from its top spot in Apple’s iPhone store by a new game called Bubble Balls. Oh, and that game was designed by Robert Nay, a 14-year-old eighth grader in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Nay created the physics-based puzzle game, which involves moving a small blue ball using constructed obstacle courses of metal and wood, using software developer’s kit Ansca Mobile’s Corona SDK.
Bubble Ball was released on Dec. 29 and is already the most popular free app with two million downloads. The game is available for iPhone and Android and is reportedly only the first of more games from the young developer.
