Intel Names Will.i.am Director of Creative Innovation

Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.am is stepping from behind the mic and into the boardroom, as he has been named Director of Creative Innovation at Intel Corp. In a statement issued by Intel, the company expressed that the specific details of the job position have not yet been developed, but that he will be involved in both creative and technological ventures. The position was created with Intel’s initiatives to connecting more devices to the internet and exploring the ways these devices are used by and impact consumers, especially the visual aspects. Will.i.am’s work may involve exploring these relationships as well and working with laptops, smartphones, tablets and other devices. The multi-platinum music artist has already begun developing music specifically for Intel.

Alhough the specifics of the position are still being worked out Deborah Conrad, Intel vice president and chief marketing officer, she has already expressed how excited Intel is to work with Will.i.am. At the announcement Conrad said, “We’re thrilled to tap into the limitless creativity Will.i.am brings to the table. We share a strong interest in innovation around music, art and lifestyle, and are excited to join forces to establish an authentic, emotional connection with consumers.”
