Javier Bardem Offered Dark Tower Lead

Javier Bardem has officially been offered the lead role in the screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Director Ron Howard has confirmed his plans to adapt the seven-book series into at least two feature films and a six-hour mini series (!!!) to offer a complete story.

It appears that Bardem has beaten out Viggo Mortensen who was also considered for the role of the gunslinger Roland. However, Bardem has not yet formally accepted the offer.
