Neko Case Raffling Off 1967 Mercury Cougar for Charity

Neko Case’s latest solo endeavor, 2009’s Middle Cyclone, boasts one of the more memorable album covers in recent memory. While much of the powerful nature of that cover is, of course, Neko Case posing with a sword, the car on which stands is also awesome. That car is a 1967 Mercury Cougar, and will soon be raffled off by Case in Neko Case’s Mercury Cougar-Rama Muscle Car-Splosion. The raffle will benefit 826 National non-profit run by author Dave Eggers to offer kids writing classes.

According to Case, this Cougar is the ideal car for any of you are looking to flee the scene from a pack of starving zombies! Check out more about car and 826 National in the promotional video below starring Case and three other kids presumably associated with the 826.
