Ripley's Believe It Or Not Movie in the Works

Ripley's Believe It Or Not Movie in the Works

Four years ago, news came out that a film was being developed based on the series of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not books. Then, Paramount Pictures bailed two weeks before production was about to start in China. But they’ve since revived the abandoned movie and gotten Eric Roth, writer of hits like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Forrest Gump to write the script based on the life of newspaper columnist Robert Ripley.

The film will follow Ripley as he spans the world, trying to find rare and interesting subjects for his columns. Jim Carrey, who was already slated to star as Ripley when Tim Burton was in the director’s chair, is still expected to take the role.
