Looks like that mysterious 20-something with no movie criticism experience won’t be joining Roger Ebert’s revamped At the Movies after all: Ebert announced today that his show will be co-hosted by Ignatiy Vishnevetsky and Christy Lemire.
Vishnevetsky is a Chicago-based critic whose work has appeared on Cine-File, Mubi and the Chicago Reader. “I was struck by the depth and detail of his film knowledge, and by how articulate he was,” Ebert said in a press release.
Lemire has spent the past 12 years reviewing movies for the Associated Press. She sat in for Ebert on At the Movies a few times back in 2007. “I admired the way she reviewed with Richard Roeper when she co-hosted our show, and I respect her criticism.” he said. “On television, Christy is a natural.”
Ebert Presents At the Movies will premiere on Jan. 21.
