Salma Hayek Working With ABC on Wicked Miniseries

Gregory Maguire’s bestselling novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, is being adapted for television by Salma Hayek and ABC studios.

Since the adaptation is based on the book and not the award-winning Broadway musical, there will not be any singing. The television adaption will be an 8-hour long miniseries that is set to air on ABC. Producer of HBO’s _Band of Brothers _, Erik Jendersen, is said to be writing the script.

Hayek has worked with ABC in the past, producing the award-winning series _Ugly Betty _ and is reported to be currently working on developing another series as well.
