The long-discussed, criticized, and disaster-laden Spider-Man musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, will now have a new finale. The New York Times reports, “patrons have complained that the show…ended with a thud; previously, a curtain simply fell to the stage after a romantic moment between Peter and his girlfriend, Mary Jane.”
Now, audiences might be satiated to some degree. In the new conclusion, Spider-Man triumphantly slings and swings around the theater, though myriad changes are still being made by the people behind the production, including Bono and The Edge of U2.
The play is set to officially open on March 15 at the Foxwoods Theater. But given the drama so far, we wouldn’t be surprised if that date was also changed.
