The Dodos Team Up With Neko Case for Upcoming Album
It appears that The Dodos will actually remain a trio—at least for their forthcoming album, No Color. After previously relieving vibraphonist Keaton Snyder of his permanent duties, the San Fran indie-pop group has since enlisted the services of alt-country singer Neko Case to play a large role on the record.
The Dodos spent a good portion of last year opening for The New Pornographers. Case also returned the favor by helping The Dodos with backing vocals on that tour, particularly on older songs like “Walking” and “Red Purple.” Apparently, the on-tour collaboration worked nicely, sparking something bigger.
The upcoming album also finds The Dodos teaming up again with producer John Askew—who worked with the band on their first two albums Beware of the Maniacs and Visiter. No Color will arrive in stores on March 15 via Frenchkiss Records. Check out the tracklist below, along with an 11-minute video discussing the making of the album (via Pitchfork).
