Tom Waits Releases Poem for Charity
Between being inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and honoring the late Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits has been pretty busy lately. Add poetry to the list of projects currently on his plate, as the legendary storyteller will be releasing a long lyrical ballad titled “Seeds On Hard Ground.” The poem, which tell the tales of individuals pushed to the margins of society, can be read in its entirety on Waits’s website sometime today.
Waits and his label, Anti- Records, will also partner together to release a limited first-edition chap book of “Seeds On Hard Ground,” from which all proceeds will be donated to the Redwood Food Bank, Sonoma County’s Homeless Referral Services and Family Support Center operated by Catholic Charities.
While the limited edition chap book does not come out until Feb. 22, you can pre-order it here. Only 1,000 copies for both North America and Europe will be made, so get yours while they are still available.
