Today, Amazon.com announced that it will offer “unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of 5,000 movies and TV shows” to Amazon Prime members.
The announcement came as a letter to customers from Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, who also mentions there will not be a price increase for the service; the Prime membership will stay at $79 per year. Customers can stream content from PCs, Macs, “any of nearly 200 models of Internet connected TVs, Blu-ray players and set-top boxes.”
Amazon currently offers a free one-month trial membership to Prime, which also offers free two-day shipping on all Amazon purchases.
