WENN reports that Sir Anthony Hopkins, perhaps known best for his work in Silence of the Lambs, will unveil a composition written for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), as well as a few original scores, in Cardiff, Wales on July 24.
“I am immensely happy to be working with the CBSO to bring my compositions to the U.K. for the first time,” Hopkins said. “There are themes and passages in these pieces that have been several decades in the making and to bring them all vividly to life with one of the great symphony orchestras of the world is absolutely thrilling.”
Tommy Pearson will join Hopkins on stage to discuss his songwriting techniques.
This isn’t foreign territory for Hopkins, who conducted the Dallas Symphony Orchestra as they performed his works in 2008.
