Apollo Theater to Induct Stevie Wonder into Hall of Fame

Stevie Wonder will be honored by Harlem’s Apollo Theater later this year. Theater representatives announced that they would be inducting him into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame. Wonder first performed there when he was 12, as part of Barry Gordy’s Motown Revue, and returned many times over the years.

Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald and Smokey Robinson are a few of the artists that Wonder will join in Apollo’s Hall of Fame.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 13 at the theater’s annual spring gala and will include a concert and an awards ceremony.
