Blizzard, creators of worldwide hits like StarCraft, Diablo and World of WarCraft, have an annual convention called BlizzCon that’s held every year for fans to celebrate the game universes and showcase their undying love for all things Blizzard. This year’s BlizzCon will take place Oct. 21-22 at the Anaheim, Calif. Convention Center.
“We look forward to holding another exciting BlizzCon this year, filled with some great entertainment and competition, as well as the latest news about Blizzard games,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment on Blizzard’s site. “BlizzCon is built from the ground up with our community in mind — we’re pleased to be able to host an event where players can come together to have fun and celebrate their passion for gaming.”
BlizzCon is also known for the additional gifts attendees can receive, including things like exclusive in-game items and other types of swag. This year, they’ll enjoy the following:
- Hands-on play time with the latest versions of Blizzard Entertainment games
- Discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers
- Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents
- Community contests with great prizes
- Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes
- More activities and attractions to be announced
Tickets are not yet on sale; they’ll be available on the Blizzard site “as the event draws closer.” Keep in mind last year’s sold out in a matter of minutes, so be ready.
