After the news of The White Stripes recently-announced breakup, we were left wondering where Mr. White might journey next. The answer is probably not what you might expect.
White’s Third Man Records announced Tuesday that the label will be releasing two spoken-word singles as part of their Green Series. Joining the ranks of other Green Series-artists such as late night talk show host, Conan O’Brien, is accent-replication expert and YouTube-sensation Amy Walker. Walker gained notoriety with her 21 Accents YouTube video as well as appearances on Today and Inside Edition. The A-side of her Third Man debut features Walker performing 30 different accents while reading a newspaper article. The B-side is an interview with Walker conducted by White himself concerning “the overuse of the word ‘like’ by modern teenagers, offending people by speaking in their accents and a wide-range of other topical subjects in an exploration of accents and dialects and how they relate to peoples preconceptions, and influence prejudices.” The Walker single will be released with 30 different covers (!!!) representing the individual personas she portrays on the record.
Meanwhile, the second Green Series release focuses on Fletcher, N.C. auctioneer, Jerry King. The A-side of King’s record contains another White-conducted interview about the history and technique of King’s auctioneering skills. The flip-side features a “very rare moment in the world of vinyl”—a double-groove system. Depending on where the listener drops the needle, they will hear one of two separate hypothetical auctions concerning either an automobile or tobacco/cake. “We already know what somebody out there is saying, ‘I already have that record in my collection,’” reads the website, “but you, sir, would be a liar.”
The King and Walker Green Series releases will both be available via Third Man Records, independent record stores and iTunes worldwide on Feb. 22.

In the article you say ...
“We already know what somebody out there is saying, ‘I already have that record in my collection,’” reads the website, “but you, sir, would be a liar.”
Well, I couldn't find that on the website, but I did find the other quote under the listing of Jerry King's single, the one about a “very rare moment in the world of vinyl”.
So I don't know where you got the 'liar' quote from. Now if that quote is referring to the Jerry King single specifically, yeah, they're right - I don't have that single. But if they are referring to double-groove vinyl, yeah I have them already. I know I have at least one, maybe two singles (whose names elude me at this moment), and I have two copies (one UK, one US) of "Monty Python's Matching Tie and Handkerchief" LP, where there are 2 side twos.
So was the 'liar' quote somewhere else on the Third Man website, or did they remove it from the single listing because they realised it wasn't true, and that they, sirs, were the liars?
