Mike Patton to Reprise Role in The Darkness II

Faith No More frontman Mike Patton is set to reprise his role as the voice of The Darkness in the upcoming game The Darkness II. In the first game, Patton’s voice gave wicked life to The Darkness, the force possessing main character Jackie Estacado, both granting him power and tearing at his soul.

“It feels really good to be the bad guy, and The Darkness is as bad as it gets,” Patton told NME. “I’ve read through the script and Jackie is going to be a brutally tortured soul. I’m looking forward to making his life a living hell.”

The first Darkness game saw mob hitman Jackie Estacado embracing the power of The Darkness to avenge the death of his girlfriend Jenny. In the sequel, Estacado, now Don of the Franchetti crime family, continues to struggle with the power of The Darkness and the lingering death of Jenny. The game utilizes a new “quad-wielding” combat system involving two demon arms in addition to a gun in each hand.
