Photographer Josh Darr has spent the past year snapping Scene Through A Lens sessions with bands, spending the day with them and acting like a fly on the wall. Admittedly, a fly on the wall with a very nice camera, but still.

In the midst of this brutal winter, Rock Island, Ill. songstress Lissie treated Chicago’s Lincoln Hall to a heavy dose of folk-rock charm. Although Lissie and guitarist Eric Sullivan spent much of the day fighting the flu, the group forged ahead with enough energy and excitement to make it through their Windy City performance.

Scene Through A Lens continues this month with this soulful Midwestern songwriter, accompanied by the talented Sullvian and Lewis Keller. Check out a behind the scenes look at Lissie and company as they overcome their collective sickness, enjoy some Portillo’s beef and relax on a cold evening.
