The Glee Cast Now Has More Hits Than Elvis

Not too long ago, the cast of Glee charted more Billboard Hot 100 singles than The Beatles. Now, they have outdone The King himself, which is to say they’ve out done everyone.

Elvis Presley held the record of 108 singles on the chart from throughout his career, but as of yesterday the Glee cast debuted six songs into the Hot 100, brining their total to 113 and ousting The King from his throne. Just last month, the cast broke Elvis’ Top 40 record as well.

However, as The A.V. Club points out, Elvis was recording songs before the launch of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958, and he managed to get several singles on the chart in the two years before Billboard officially started keeping track. Also, the songs covered by the cast are already proven hits, giving them an easy edge when it comes to gaining popularity.
