Last King Of Scotland Director Tackling Bob Marley Documentary
Kevin Macdonald, the director of critically-acclaimed The Last King Of Scotland, will now work on a Bob Marley documentary simply titled Marley, reports TheWrap.com.
Although Macdonald is currently known for his recent work in fiction, he started as a documentary filmmaker. His One Day In September explored the hostage crisis at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, and earned him an Academy Award for his efforts.
Macdonald said in a statement, “What made Bob tick is probably unanswerable but viewers will certainly feel that they know him a little better after seeing our documentary. I am grateful to the Marley family for entrusting me with their heritage.”
Producers Tuff Gong Pictures/Shangri-La Entertainment are looking to release the film this year to honor the 30th anniversary of Marley’s death.
