Last night, James Murphy & Co. appeared on The Colbert Report for their last television appearance as LCD Soundsystem. Murphy chatted briefly about retirement, coffee and a rather disturbing mental image of Justin Bieber at 41.

Murphy’s recent ticket scalper-induced rage didn’t come up, despite a quick mention of the band’s upcoming farewell show at Madison Square Garden. After a quick decision that neither overdose nor writing a Spiderman musical were good ways to end a career, Murphy and company played “I Can Change,” their last television performance ever. Single tear.
