News has been rolling out concerning director Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman movie, tentatively titled Superman: Man of Steel. We recently reported that Kevin Costner and Diane Lane would play Superman’s adoptive parents Jonathan and Martha Kent, and now the LA Times is reporting that three-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams has joined the cast as Lois Lane.
Adams, whose previous work includes Night at the Museum, Julie and Julia and her Academy Award-nominated performance in David O. Russell’s The Fighter, will take on the role of Lane, the Daily Planet’s star reporter and love interest for Superman.
“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder said. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”
