Odd Future to Collaborate with Beyoncé?
It appears that Beyoncé has been working with L.A.-based hip-hop collective Odd Future. According to NME.com, Frank Ocean of the collective uploaded a photo of himself with the former singer of Destiny’s Child to his Tumblr. The Daily Mirror reports that he also wrote a message online saying, “Not to brag but man, this is surreal. Like she’s [Beyonce] singing my songs. If time were to stop now, the past couple weeks would be near the top of the highlight reel for my short time on earth.”
Both the message and the photo have since been taken down.
It is currently unknown whether the sessions were for Beyoncé’s next solo album or another project altogether. She has also been collaborating with Diplo and Sleigh Bells in the studio recently.
In any case, let’s just hope that Beyoncé shows Odd Future more enthusiasm than their audience at the Billboard SXSW showcase last Saturday night. The collective cursed out the crowd, the venue, and even their hosts, Billboard, before finally storming offstage. Odd Future felt that the crowd was not rowdy enough for their taste and subsequently cut the set short after only three songs.
