Update: Turns out the new live album is nothing more than a bootleg), and it’s not authorized for release by the Bowie camp.

Artistdirect reports the iconic David Bowie will release a new live album, Birthday Celebration – Live in NYC 1997, on April 26. The album has appearances by Foo Fighters, Billy Corgan, Lou Reed, The Cure’s Robert Smith and The Pixies’ Frank Black.

The album was recorded on Jan. 9, 1997 during Bowie’s 50th birthday party at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Artistdirect writes, “Foo Fighters appear on the song ‘Hallo Spaceboy’; Dave Grohl plays on ‘Seven Years in Tibet’; Robert Smith partakes in ‘The Last Thing You Should Do’ and ‘Quicksand’; while Corgan put his stamp on ‘All the Young Dudes’ and ‘Jean Genie.’”
