HBO Options Dick Cheney Miniseries

HBO has confirmed that it has optioned Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency for a miniseries.

The show, which follows Richard Bruce Cheney from his early years as a Nixon staffer to his time as VP under George W. Bush, is based on the best-seller by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bartonb Gellman.

Producers said the miniseries will focus on the fact that Cheney’s “single-minded pursuit of enhanced power for the presidency was unprecedented in the nation’s history.”

West Wing writer Rick Cleveland is set to adapt Angler for the small screen.
