Longtime Athens alt-rockers R.E.M. will release their 15th studio record, Collapse Into Now, next week, but you can hear the new album in its entirety now compliments of NPR.
The group partnered up once again with producer Jacknifee Lee, who worked with R.E.M. on their last album, Accelerate. This time around, R.E.M. recruited the likes of Patti Smith, guitarist Lenny Kaye, Peaches, Eddie Vedder and The Hidden Cameras frontman Joel Gibb to contribute on Collapse Into Now.
According to R.E.M. member Mike Mills, Collapse Into Now is a “very personal, very human record. Not only to Michael [Stipe], but personal and human in the sense of the narrative of the songs, the protagonists of the songs.”
Collapse Into Now will be available in stores March 8 on Warner Bros.
