John Darnielle Covers Joe Hill In Support Of Wisconsin Protestors

Looks like Steve Earle isn’t the only one standing behind unions’ rights: Once a union member himself, The Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle has decided to lend his voice to support the current plight of Wisconsin public servants, covering protest-folk legend Joe Hill’s “Power In A Union.” He posted the video on his Vimeo account, stating:

“Everybody knows I don’t generally do the acoustic guitar guy rocking political jams deal but as a former member of SEIU 660 & the California Association of Psychiatric Technicians & a kid who benefitted from great teachers I wanted to spend tonight saying WE ARE ON YOUR SIDE xo jd”
