Joseph Gordon-Levitt Joins The Dark Knight Rises

We reported last month that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was interested in joining Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Now, Variety reports that the 30-year-old Inception actor has joined the cast, set to play Alberto Falcone, son of Tom Wilkinson’s character Carmine Falcone from Batman Begins.

Falcone, Gordon-Levitt’s character, was known as “The Holiday Killer” in the original Batman comics, known for his murders taking place on various holidays. The character’s first appearance was in the 1996 Batman story arc Batman: The Long Halloween.
