While the electro-punks of Le Tigre are currently on hiatus, all is not lost for fans of Kathleen Hanna & Co., as a documentary on the band will debut this spring. The film will premiere at March’s SXSW Film and Music Conference and will also screen at New York’s Museum of Modern Art on April 4. Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre On Tour will cover the group’s road trip for 2004’s This Island as well as touch on “sexism and homophobia in the music industry while tearing up the stage via performance art poetics, no-holds-barred lyrics, punk rock ethos, and whip-smart wit.”
The documentary will also include never-before-seen live performances, interviews and backstage footage of Le Tigre. Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre On Tour will be released on DVD on June 7 via Oscilloscope Laboratories.
