Michael Chiklis is set to star in the pilot for a new CBS series produced by Conan O’Brien. The new series, Vince Uncensored, would see Chiklis making a return to comedy after his more recent work on dramas like FX’s The Shield and ABC’s No Ordinary Family. The actor has previously done comedic roles in The Commish and Daddio.
For Chiklis, the new pilot is in second position to No Ordinary Family, which he also executive produces, according to Deadline.com. However, the ABC-show’s struggling ratings suggest that it might not survive for another season. The sets for the show were taken down earlier this week following the wrap on production for the first season, and while this is not totally unusual, the fact that Chiklis has already taken on another job might mean the series won’t be returning.
As far as Vince Uncensored is concerned, Chkiklis would portray a man who decides to take a more honest approach to his life, work and family after a life-changing experience.
