Ted Leo, St. Vincent, Wye Oak to Play Our Band Could Be Your Life Concert

Ted Leo, Wye Oak and St. Vincent are among the acts that have teamed up to perform in the Our Band Could Be Your Life Concert.

Michael Azerrad’s Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes From The American Indie Underground 1981-1991 is a testament of influential Indie bands in the 1980s. Chapters cover Black Flag, the Minutemen, Minor Threat, Hüsker Dü, the Replacements, Sonic Youth, Big Black, Dinosaur Jr., Fugazi, Butthole Surfers, and other bands.

This year the book celebrates its 10-year anniversary and so Azzerad, along with some friends, are hosting a concert. Our Band Could Be Your Life Concert will honor the book by having current bands cover the 13 groups featured in the book.

Titus Andronicus – the Replacements
St. Vincent – Big Black
Ted Leo – Minor Threat
Wye Oak – Dinosaur Jr
Nat Baldwin, David Longstreth and Brian McOmber – Black Flag
Delicate Steve – the Minutemen
Buke & Gass – Fugazi
tUnE-yArDs – Sonic Youth
Dan Deacon – the Butthole Surfers

The concert will take place on Sunday, May 22. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 11, at noon at the Bowery Ballroom’s TicketWeb site. More information about the book is available via its Facebook page.
