Trent Reznor Not Working on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Despite previous reports, Oscar winning composer Trent Reznor will not be working on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Reznor himself set the record straight in a post on the Nine Inch Nails forums.

“Don’t believe everything you read. As it turns out, I WON’T be working on (acting or scoring) ALVH after all. There’s no juicy story here, it’s just that when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement I hadn’t made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing. I felt the need to say something earlier this week because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it. Confused yet? Apparently I am. Bottom line, I wish them the best with the film and I’m sure it will still be great.”

While it saddens us that we won’t see the NIN frontman appearing in the film, some good news did come along with the announcement. Reznor went on to say that he was “still fully engaged with the Year Zero mini-series,” the HBO series that continues the story of the Alternate Reality Game developed for NIN’s Year Zero. The story involves a near-future version of the United States that has fallen into militaristic control and oppression, following a number of terrorist attacks. Exciting news considering how awesome the Year Zero ARG was.
