Turns out, M. Ward and Jim James aren’t the only discerning foodies in rock ‘n’ roll. We Are Scientists have joined the fray on Yelp, reviewing random bars, restaurants and/or spirit shops they’ve visited, presumably while on tour.
The reviews are pretty detailed, not to mention amusing. Take this excerpt from a recent review of Bee Liquors in Alphabet City:
Bee is every bit as cheap and shitty as previous reviewers have suggested. So far everything I’ve bought there has inebriated me, to one degree or another. My credit cards always work in their machine, and there are never any smashed bottles lying around on the ground. Wine that comes out of the fridge is cold. Just don’t go to Bee’s looking for beer: it’s not that their beer is old and skunky or that the beer comes in cracked, leaking bottles; it’s that they don’t have beer.
They haven’t posted a full review of in couple months, but they continue firing away with Quick Tips like this one regarding Shab’s Pita Stroller in Harrisburg, Pa.: “Try the ‘stroller.’ You have no choice.”
