Alec Baldwin Says 30 Rock's Next Season Will Be the Last
While speaking to Alec Baldwin at the National Dance Institute’s annual fundraising gala, Vulture discovered some rather sad news concerning the future of NBC’s 30 Rock. Baldwin answered a few light questions about politics and his dancing experience, but when Vulture asked him if he planned to follow in co-star Tina Fey’s footsteps and write a book, he let them in on a little secret.
“I will tell you one thing,” he said. “And that is our show next year is our last year of the show.” Baldwin has previously stated that he would be leaving the series in 2012, but now it seems that the series will simply come to a close. “Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She’s going to be the next Elaine May. She’ll be great.”
Update: According to “sources close to the situation,” Baldwin’s comments are “total nonsense.” Maybe there is hope after all.
