James Cameron and 20th Century Fox have found the location for the upcoming Avatar sequels: 1600 Rosecrans Ave. in California, formerly known as Manhattan Beach Studios.

They officially signed a lease for studio and office space at MBS Media Campus in Manhattan Beach, with total square footage hovering around 58,000. It holds 15 soundstages, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, is “likely to become the new home of Cameron’s company, Lightstorm Entertainment.”

Entertainment office specialist Jim Jacobsen said, “Given the two different requirements — needing soundstages like he had before and office space, and the fact that the [original Avatar shooting location] Hercules Campus has started demolition, it’d make sense he’d be interested in a studio operation like Manhattan Beach Studios. 90,000 square feet of space on the Westside is very difficult to put together.”

Avatar 2 is scheduled for December 2014, while Avatar 3 will likely arrive December 2015.
