Batman is getting remade again, this time as the animated feature Batman: Year One.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of the cast list, with Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Benjamin McKenzie (The O.C.), Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galatica) tapped to be the voices of the leading characters in this adaptation of Frank Miller’s classic comic.
Cranston will play Gordon, with McKenzie as Wayne/Batman, Dushku as Catwoman and Sackhoff as Detective Sarah Essen, a love interest for Gordon.
THR gives a short synopsis of the plot: “In Year One, a young Bruce Wayne is first starting out as a costumed vigilante. He creates an early bond with Lieutenant James Gordon, whose importance in the tale makes it as much as Gordon’s story as Wayne’s.”
Along with the cast list, two screenshots from the film were also released, giving a first look at Batman: Year One. Check out the new images below.
The film is scheduled to release straight to video in the fall but will premiere at Comic-Con this July.
