After taking a break two years ago following their 2008 release Intimacy, British indie rockers Bloc Party have revealed that they are reuniting this year and have begun work on their fourth record.
“Kele [Okereke] and I started working on Bloc Party stuff,” guitarist Russell Lissack said in an interview with NME. “We’re having a bit of a break until the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer, but we’re going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material.” In another interview, Lissack noted that he has already written “maybe seven or eight songs” for the follow-up to 2008′s Intimacy.
Bloc Party last played live in 2009 before going on hiatus. Since then, members of the band have been immersed in several side projects, including Kele’s solo record, Pin Me Down and Young Legionnaire.
