FBI Release Case Files of Notorious B.I.G.'s Murder
The case files for the murder of Christopher “Biggie” Wallace have been released by the FBI.
Biggie was shot fourteen years ago, and though the investigation of his death ended in 2005, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has unveiled the records as a result of repeated Freedom of Information Act requests.
The rapper was shot after leaving a party in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. The details of the case are now available to citizen investigators, including information on the rare Gecko 9mm ammunition and the items that were found on him.
A judge dismissed a wrongful death suit in 2010 that had been filed by Biggie’s family who alleged that Los Angeles officials had covered up police involvement in the murder.
Earlier this year, CNN, the LAPD, FBI and LA County district attorney’s office were once again working on the case due to new leads. No specific details have been released.
