My So-Called Life Returns To Air

My So-Called Life Returns To Air

My So-Called Life is returning to the small screen sixteen years after its cancellation.

The Sundance Channel has picked up the cult classic TV series to broadcast the single 19 episode season that originally aired.

My So-Called Life first aired on ABC and starred Claire Danes, but it was cancelled after one season due to low ratings and Danes’ unwillingness to continue shooting. Despite its brevity, Danes won a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination for her role in the critically acclaimed show.

“We love My So-Called Life because it’s both substantive and engaging,” the network said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We’re delighted to bring back the series for the passionate audience that adored the show when it first premiered and we’re thrilled to introduce it to a whole new audience that can enjoy it for the first time. The timeless stories hold up brilliantly.”

The show will premiere on The Sundance Channel on April 25 at 11 p.m.
