Samuel L. Jackson to Make Broadway Debut as Martin Luther King

Samuel L. Jackson will make his Broadway debut portraying Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

After reading for the part last year, Jackson has been cast in Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop, which re-imagines events the night before the 1968 assassination of the civil rights leader. The play is being directed by Tony Award nominee Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun).

The show opens Sept. 22 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, with an official opening taking place Oct. 13.

Tickets will go on sale at a later date.
