The Shins End Two-Year Hiatus and Play New Song

After spending the past two years focusing on his Broken Bells collaboration with Danger Mouse, James Mercer and his band The Shins will be returning from a hiatus of sorts in 2011. The Portland indie rockers announced that they would be playing at Outside Lands this August.

In addition, Mercer revealed some new material at a show last month. “We’re working on a new record and this is one of the songs that should be on there,” Mercer told a Portland audience at a recent benefit this past March. Check out the untitled song on YouTube or below.
