Adele's Ex Stakes Claim on 19 Profits

Adele's Ex Stakes Claim on 19 Profits

With 21 as the #1 album in the U.S. and setting new records in the U.K. leading the charts for 14 consecutive weeks, Adele is currently on top. With the success of her current album, her debut, 19, has experienced a resurgence in sales.

Now her ex-boyfriend, who inspired much of the album, is claiming he is entitled to some of the profits. Adele has refused to publicly name him, but she has admitted that their break-up helped to inspire the album.

“He really thought he’d had some input into the creative process by being a prick. I’ll give him this credit — he made me an adult and put me on the road that I’m traveling," Adele told The Sun. “For about a week he was calling and was deadly serious about it. Finally, I said ‘Well, you made my life hell, so I lived it and now I deserve it.’”
