Coraline Team Returns with Animated Film ParaNorman

The team that brought Coraline to the screen is joining forces once again for ParaNorman.

Focus Features and animation company LAIKA are preparing the new animated film in same style as their previous venture, using stop-animation and 3D technology.

ParaNorman is a comedy/thriller about a small town the comes under attack by zombies. The film, currently in production, includes a voice cast featuring Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Elaine Stritch.

The film will be the first project under a new, two-picture deal between the two companies announced Wednesday. ParaNorman is set for international release Aug. 17, 2012.
