Guy Pearce to Star in Ridley Scott's Prometheus

Guy Pearce has just been added to the Ridley Scott’s mysterious Prometheus project. It is currently unclear what role Pearce will play in the film, but for that matter, there are a lot of things unclear about Prometheus.

Originally billed as a prequel to the Alien franchise, the new project was later reported to be a stand-alone sci-fi film. But rumors have been floating around suggesting it might still be somehow tied to the world Scott first introduced in 1979, particularly in reference to the unexplained backstory of the ‘space jockey.’

Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.

Pearce joins Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall and Logan Marshall-Green in the film currently shooting on soundstages in London. Prometheus is set to hit theaters on June 8, 2012.
