Hugh Jackman has a lot more time on his hands now that The Wolverine has been put on hiatus following director Darren Aronofsky’s departure and the disaster in Japan, where the film is scheduled to shoot. To fill the lull, Jackman is reportedly considering stepping into the lead role for the James Cameron-produced Fantastic Voyage remake.
Voyage director Shawn Levy recently worked with Jackman on the forthcoming robot boxing film Real Steel, and it appears that he is eager to join forces once again. The film hasn’t gotten the green light yet, but Levy and Jackman are also connected to an untitled project being written by Lost’s Carlton Cuse. So, we will likely see the duo working together again on one project or another before too long.
The original Fantastic Voyage (1966) focuses on a group of scientists who miniaturize themselves in order to enter their colleague’s body and save his life.
