Atlanta’s own (and Paste favorites) The Coathangers are following the lead of fellow all-female garage rockers The Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls by releasing a new album in 2011. Their third LP, Larceny and Old Lace, is set to be released June 7 on Seattle label Suicide Squeeze.
Known for their post-punk, anything-goes attitude, the quartet has progressed from a self-described “group of Atlanta girlfriends buying the cheapest instruments the pawn shop could offer,” to one of the most unpredictable and exciting live groups in the male-heavy garage circuit.
