Joel Edgerton Joins The Great Gatsby
Via The Hollywood Reporter Australian actor Joel Edgerton has joined the all-star The Great Gatsby cast, taking on the role of Tom Buchanan.
The role was previously offered to Ben Affleck, who eventually turned it down due to his own directorial project, Argo.
Edgerton joins Leonardo DiCaprio, Isla Fisher, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan in the 3D adaptation by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow. Baz Luhrmann will direct the project, with filming to begin in August.
